Tooth Brushing Is Not Something To Take Lightly
There is only so much that tooth decay photos can do to scare your kids into brushing their teeth. You need to walk that fine line between education, instilling of habit, scare tactics, and fun, all to create that perfect miasma of dental hygiene awareness for your kids.
But, how can you teach your kids proper dental practices and hygiene if you’re not quite comfortable with it yourself? Sure, you brush twice a day, rarely have cavities, but do you know why it is so important, or how to properly impart that information? No worries if you don’t, because you’re in the right place to learn.

The most important thing to remember about oral hygiene is that there is no reversing the effects of poor dental habits. If your teeth rot and fall out, you’re not going to grow anymore. Once those baby teeth are gone, those’re your chompers for the rest of your life. So, if you don’t treat them like you want them to last, they’re not going to.
That is why it is so ridiculously crucial that you get your kids to brush regularly and well, right from the start. Because they are so young, they have that much more time to mess up and cause life-long damage.
As mentioned above, brushing teeth for kids is almost more important than adults brushing. Regular trips to the dentist are a great way to stress that importance. While they are there, they will see plenty of tooth decay photos to help them see what they want to avoid.
And while there, the dentist can offer some advice on potential problem areas that may be showing up for your child. Between the dentist being bad cop, and you being ever-vigilant good cop, you can get your kid to realize the importance.
Aside from your dentist’s tooth decay photos, you may be able to get a variety of pamphlets or posters that will have dental tips for kids in them. They can be aimed at you, and show you just how to address it with your kids, or they can be for your kids to look at and learn from.
Not trying to rush you on this, but it is pretty important that you get your kids to practice best-brushing procedures as soon as possible. The sooner you get them in the habit, the more likely they are to have good teeth throughout their lives. And that will save both you and them on some potentially hefty dentist bills.
